Bookish Picnic

On this page you will find all the information and rules for our bookish picnic.

What is the bookish picnic?

We're holding a picnic for book lovers so you can meet like minded reading fans while enjoying delicious snacks. Everyone is free to dress up as extravagant as they want (with nudity being excluded). We will also have a photographer who will take pictures of everyone during the event (if you don't want to be in the pictures please do let us know during the day).

Where and when?

Our Bookish picnic will be held on the 5th of July in the botanical garden of Utrecht university. Walk in is from 12 o'clock and you can stay till whatever time you want (or till the garden closes of course). We gather at the grass fields in front of the greenhouse.

What about food?

The picnic will have a potluck, so please bring your own food. It would be lovely if you brought something to share.

Do I need a ticket?

You need to buy a ticket to enter the garden at your own costs. A regular ticket is €10.- . People with a CJP or U- Card can enter for 4,50 and people with a museum card can enter for free (for other exceptions check their website).

In addition, you must also sign up through this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScd0s5OMVcl1a69fhOK6JBYd3a2GCs3gqL9q7YYotAV7okr-w/viewform

We'll have about 40 spots available. The link will expire once we reach the max capacity!

Rules:

  • You're responsible for the purchase of your own ticket to enter the garden.
  • Only those who signed up through the form are able to attend the event. If you bring a friend, let them fill in the sign up form too.
  • One is allowed to wear whatever they want, however nudity will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave the event.
  • There will be a photographer present, if you want to get your picture taken, please ask. If you don't want to be in pictures, please tell them as well.
  • We are in a university garden, please make sure you clean up after yourself, so we won't litter the place.
  • Always listen to the garden staff. We are visitors to their work environment.
  • In case the weather report expects bad weather, we'll send out an email to cancel the event.

Anything else?

If the temperature gets hot, please bring a full water bottle and sunscreen along. Your day wouldn't be fun if you faint due to the sun. Furthermore we recommend bringing a picnic blanket along to sit on.
And most importantly: Don't forget your book!
