Review of the Six of Crows

Nothing like tea and discussing a good heist!
Last Thursday we finally got to reviewing the six of crows by Leigh Bardugo.
The overall opinion we shared was that the book was clearly a young adult in every way, but with some dark and sensitive topics like trauma and prostitution.  The story was well executed, although the description of the ice court was sometimes a bit vague and disorienting. Aside from that the story had lots of fun details and kept you engaged. For the Dutch people among us, it was quite strange to read terms and names from your own language (especially as the capitalization wasn't always on point) and it took some getting used too.  Most of us loved the characters and how their back story resonated with their current stands in life. Though on the other hand it did feel like the characters were too young for what they have encountered in life so far.
A lot of us loved the first book and are looking forward to digging into the second book of the six of crows duology.
